Job Title: Compensation Program Manager

Requirements: As a retail grocer, we operate 7 days/week and 365 days/year and as such work in support of our stores may include evening and weekend hours per the needs of the business. Valid Driver License and vehicle required, with ability to travel regularly to store locations, trade shows / events and/or other off-site locations throughout the United States / local region.

About the role: Provides compensation analysis and support across the organization in all regions. Works directly to support the overall direction, development and execution of compensation programs and philosophy. This is a management position. - Analyzes and reports compensation data to HR leadership, hiring managers and others as needed for wage and wage scale adjustments, pricing newly created positions, effective budgeting and compliance with compensation guidelines and federal and regional compensation laws.
Manages company wage scales, including providing updated wage posters to specific locations as needed.
Supports hiring managers in the administration of compensation, providing thoughtful and analytical guidance on wage increases and adjustments.
Performs job evaluations and comparisons to determine appropriate compensation and salary level placement based on established wage and salary scales.
Works with the Recruiting Manager on creation and development of new job descriptions, including collecting and analyzing market data for job pricing of new or upgraded positions.
Consults with hiring managers on the development of job descriptions and pre-comp work related to the creation of new positions and/or updating of existing positions.
Works with HR leadership to conducts annual staff compensation analysis and develops recommendations for leadership on any change in compensation strategy.
Manages the Acorn Fund program and annual valuation statements.
Manages the communication, review and implementation of the bonus plan program in partnership with Finance team.
Coordinates internally developed staff welfare programs, such as the Community Loan Fund and PTO Donation programs.
Pulls recurring reports from the HRIS system and works them into presentable manner for leadership, such as turnover reports, diversity reporting, and the HR Scorecard.
Runs and files the annual EEOC report.
Responds to unemployment claim requests for Store Support.
Electronically files paperwork and supports location-level administrators with paperless filing program questions.
Responds to inquiries in the benefits email inbox and benefits phone line from staff and vendors.
Supports HR leadership on special projects.
Maintains awareness of current HR projects and may support projects outside of daily scope of work.
Maintains confidentiality of all personnel information.
Tools and Equipment Used (not all inclusive): This position works with standard office equipment. May be required to use the following tools and equipment when working in stores or offsite; baler, hand truck, POS, industrial kitchen equipment (i.e. blast chiller, grill, knives/blades, oven, grills, scales, etc.) and basic housekeeping / janitorial items.
This position works consistently at a light work level and may be asked to work on occasion at a medium or heavy work level when supporting stores or other offsite events. Frequently required to sit, walk, reach and grasp. Occasionally required to be on feet with a mix of standing and walking throughout shift. Up to occasionally, dependent on location, required to climb stairs, step stool and /or ladders.

What you Bring as a Candidate:
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience required.
Previous food and/or grocery specific industry experience preferred. Experience in a multi-unit, high growth retail or similar environment required.
Knowledge of Compensation and Benefits programs and/or previous HR Generalist experience required.
Previous program specialist or management level experience required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related fields required, however relevant work experience in lieu of formal education is acceptable.
Mid to high-level proficiency with MS Office. Strong working knowledge of HRIS software programs / platforms required. Skills to learn new computer programs and systems.
Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and/or relevant SHRM certifications a bonus.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy, to collaborate, negotiate and communicate effectively and professionally with cross-functional partners at all levels in the company.
Demonstrated leadership skills with problem-solving, project management and execution of initiatives across multiple locations and regions.
Proven experience driving and executing strategic initiatives, policies, programs and projects that achieve measurable business results.
