Overview

This is an HR Generalist role with an emphasis in employee leaves and worker’s compensation claims. This role is responsible for managing a range of HR activities. These include acting as a resource to help solve team member issues, overseeing and facilitating company training system, and creating & administering policies and procedures for company.  Motivating team members through leadership and providing assistance on other HR projects.

Responsibilities

 

  • Provides high-quality advice and service to Signature management on employee leaves and worker’s comp. claims
  • Counsels and advises managers in interpreting and applying policies and procedures to resolve issues related to recruitment, compensation, disciplinary action, compliance and conflict resolution
  • Directs and coordinates preparation of job descriptions to ensure FLSA classification compliance as well as role appropriateness
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel
  • Assists in the development and implementation of company-wide personnel policies and procedures
  • Creates, administers, and manages company training program, including annual training and make sure volunteers are administered correctly in program
  • Assists in preparing and maintaining employee handbook as well as the policies and procedures manual
  • Manage Wufoo system to process all employee change forms
  • Assists in development and administration of the compensation program
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and services performed; supports the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Compiles and distributes human resource information from the HRIS/Payroll database
  • Completes special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; paying attention to all details; fulfilling transactions
  • Ensures services follow professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and laws
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other company meetings and seminars as needed
  • Provides support to HR team members
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Backup HR Generalist – Employee Relations position on all job duties
  • Other HR projects, as assigned
  • Supports mission, values and goals of Signature

Qualifications/Skillsets

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications or related field preferred
  • PHR / SPHR or SHRM Certification preferred
  • At least two years’ HR Generalist experience required
  • Experience with HRIS systems and reporting, preferably Ultipro
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations relating to employment
  • Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, attention to detail, flexibility and cooperation when performing job responsibilities as part of a team
  • A self-starter who owns projects and sees them through
  • Previous experience in healthcare environment preferred
  • Business acumen in a for-profit environment
  • Strong communication skills, with emphasis on the ability to listen
  • Ability to consult on complex problems or issues
  • Able to critically evaluate a situation and provide multiple solutions
