We are seeking an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to assume responsibility for the administration  of Cascades’ human resource policies, procedures, and programs. This entails ownership and/or oversight of HR services, in collaboration with a HR team of two (Sr. HR Generalist and HR Specialist) to ensure a high level of services and preparedness in the following areas: Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Benefits, Compensation, Performance Management, Compliance, and HRIS. The HR Manager guides and supports the on-going development of a team-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes the core values of Cascade and our “do the right thing” approach.

For this role, we are seeking an experienced HR professional who is able to take a practical, humanistic, and proactive approach to the HR discipline, and who will have the ability to create and influence strategy, as well as handle day-to-day tactical issues and concerns. Success in this role, and at Cascade, depends heavily on communication abilities with executives at all levels, general staff, vendors, and outside resources. Our HR Manager is a member of our People Management team, and works in close collaboration with our Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development groups to ensure the needs of our Cascade teams are met.

This is a full-time, exempt position, to be located at our Portland, OR headquarters. The HR Manager reports to the Vice President of Technology & Internal Operations. Minimal travel is expected for this role. We are currently working remotely due to COVID restrictions, and will ensure you have a fully functioning remote workstation to work from home.

  • Broad knowledge of HR principles and practices
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly efficient time management skills, with flexibility to prioritize workload in response to shifting demands
  • Strong skills in MS Office365 and SharePoint Online, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Social Sciences or other related field of study
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP Certification strongly preferred
  • 10 years or more experience managing the key functional areas of HR for a small to mid-sized organization
  • Experienced with the establishment and execution of HR initiatives, plans, and policies for private company’s of similar size is preferred (i.e. 200-400)

Compensation & Benefits

Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits.
