The Clackamas County Department of Human Resources (HR) is looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented candidate to join the HR team as a HR Specialist. We are seeking an individual with excellent analytical and communication skills, a strong commitment to customer service and working in a team environment.

The Department of HR provides County-wide human resources services to County departments and employees, including employee recruitment and selection, personnel ordinance and policy administration, position classification and compensation, organizational development, employee training and development, benefits administration, risk management, workers compensation, liability and casualty claims management, human resources information systems, labor and employee relations and collective bargaining to over 2,400 employees, both represented and non-represented.

The HR Specialist will be part of the Workforce Data Management (WDM) team. The purpose of the WDM program is to provide systems management, reports, analytics, and education services to Human Resources, County departments and employees so they can understand and use HR systems and data to make informed decisions and achieve their strategic results.

This position will perform duties such as completing routine professional assignments in human resources administration and business systems, compiling data and preparing reports, providing support to customers regarding business processes and recommending solutions using HRIS software, monitor and respond to customer needs related to human resource software, act as a liaison between HR staff and department staff in resolving technical and business process issues. Around half of this positions time will be focused on data entry, data integrity, and ensuring compliance.

The HR Specialist performs a variety of professional and technical human resources duties. This position will work across business lines to provide guidance and support on HRIS inquires and solutions including advising users how to troubleshoot system issues. .

This position requires great attention to detail, strong data administration and analytical skills, the ability to meet strict deadlines and the ability to communicate information in a clear and comprehensive manner to a variety of audiences such as employees, applicants, co-workers and managers. We are looking for an individual who has the ability to prioritize assignments and balance the demands of multiple projects while maintaining quality and consistency across all work.
