Payroll Manager

Mulberry Talent Partners: Accounting & Finance Division, has joined with our client, a company located in Tigard, OR to identify a Payroll Manager to join their team. This is a hybrid, direct-hire, full-time role that will report to the Sr. HR Manager. As the Payroll Manager, you will manage the payroll team in supporting all aspects of payroll operations for 2000+ US employees

Your Role:

  • Scope: Ensure accuracy & timely completion of the payroll records. Collaboration with external payroll providers & internal business partners to successfully deliver an accurate and compliant payroll. Assist in OT and bonus calculations, run reports, and manage paid time off accruals & related issues. Support the operation of the payroll/HRIS system (ADP Workforce Now), developing best practices, and documenting business requirements and operating procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining payroll guidelines & provide suggestions to update policies & procedures
  • Ensure accuracy and timely completion of the payroll records
  • Review final payroll batches, registers, and other reports prior to payroll processing
  • Capture and analyze data to identify problems and establish baseline metrics
  • Document business and technical requirements for desired process solutions
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data provided to internal and external partners
  • Run and audit payroll reports after processing
  • Understand and document underlying data from multiple sources
  • Calculate pay in compliance with wage and hour laws
  • Assist with monthly, bi-annual, and annual bonus payout calculations and review
  • Partner with HR team to resolve issues related to leave of absence, benefits, and payroll
  • Create and maintain tax rates and status with states as needed
  • Assist with manual and payroll check calculations and review
  • Assist with and answer questions in relation to external and internal audits
  • Work with other departments (tax, HR, legal, corporate accounting, FP&A) to resolve issues
  • Partner with stakeholders to educate/inform employees and managers on payroll-related issues

You Bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in payroll
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • 2+ years demonstrated experience organizing, managing, and mentoring staff
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • Expert in Excel including v and h lookups, pivot tables, macros and complex formulas.
  • Able to operate independently and with discretion, work effectively under pressure, and

maintain confidentiality

  • Orientation towards teamwork and customer service
  • Understanding of wage and hour compliance as it relates to payroll operations

Compensation Rate: $80,000 – $112,000 with 15% annual bonus target
