OHSU’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic has been immense.  We are experiencing significant demands for staffing and recruitment of positions, including many hard to fill roles.  At this time, our recruitment volume is high, and we are seeking Talent Acquisition professionals to help us recruit and ensure a smooth and efficient process flow for our candidates and hiring managers.  These temporary positions within the Human Resources Talent Acquisition team are anticipated to have a duration of up to four months.

Function/Duties of Position

The Talent Sourcing Specialist will support Human Resources Talent Acquisition teams to source candidates for key job groups and hard to fill positions. They will identify sources and methods to attract and engage diverse candidates to open positions, highlighting the OHSU employee value proposition.  They will work proactively to develop pathways for prospective candidates, conduct targeted searches for identified skills, attributes and experience.  The Talent Sourcing Specialist will generate leads through innovative strategies, utilizing best practices, engaging with the candidates and tracking outcomes.  They will collaborate with talent acquisition partners and the recruitment marketing specialist.  The Talent Sourcing Specialist will screen active and passive candidates.  They will serve as a subject matter expert on current market trends in academic health centers.  This position reports to the Talent Acquisition Director.

 

 

Key Responsibilities & Performance Standards

  • Develops and implements innovative, outcomes-focused sourcing strategies utilizing digital platforms, online professional recruitment tools, professional social media channels, resume databases, applicant tracking system database searches and other effective outreach methods to build diverse talent pools.
  • Screens active and passive candidates.  Builds and maintains strong partnerships with talent acquisition partners and recruitment marketing specialist through effective communication and aligning strategy to build candidate pools.
  • Conducts research and networking activities to identify new techniques to source talent.  Analyzes trends to inform future efforts.  Identifies emerging trends in the market and industry.
  • Builds and communicates knowledge of market trends and industry best practices such as market intelligence, labor market changes, industry events and updates and sourcing techniques.
  • Utilizes effective tracking systems to document, monitor and measure outcomes on sourcing activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications or other relevant field, or equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
  • 3 years’ experience talent sourcing and recruiting that includes hard to fill positions.
  • Expertise in talent search techniques including Boolean, ATS sourcing tools and online niche resources.
  • Experience with successful sourcing methodologies and tools, including search engines, databases, internet, networking, social media, professional associations, utilizing best practices.
  • Experience using a variety of applications, Microsoft Office suite,  applicant tracking systems.
  • Knowledge of trends, best practices and systems to support talent sourcing.
  • Strong project management skills and excellent organizational skills.
  • Tolerance for, and ability to manage ambiguity in a high volume, fast-paced setting.
  • Self-directed, ability to think independently.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with demonstrated professional judgment and professional demeanor
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively manage competing priorities.

  • Corporate recruiting experience.
  • Experience in healthcare recruiting.
  • Experience developing and deploying recruitment and career events.
  • Ability to gather data, understand metrics, forecast and strategize as it relates to market trends.
