Human Resources professionals often have unique opportunities to make a positive difference in other people’s lives. For example, through our roles in hiring, performance management, training and employee activities we have opportunities to help, including mentoring, helping job seekers develop interviewing skills and organizing company volunteers.
Through this blog, I hope to share some success stories that may inspire even more of my colleagues to take the time to make a difference in someone else’s life.
In my next blog entry, I would like to highlight the difference we can make for “emerging professionals”: those who are just starting out in the HR profession. Whether an emerging professional is coming straight out of college or is entering HR as a change in career, landing that first job and finding success can be daunting.
If you received mentoring, guidance, advice or other assistance when you were just starting out in HR, drop me a note using the “contact” form below. I’ll compile your stories in my next installment.
