“Fall. Get up. Try Again.” — Brené Brown
It has never been more important for us to face our fears and rise from our falls, and WCL is excited to present a one-day Rising Strong™ Workshop developed by Brené Brown and facilitated by Ushirika Johnson.
Forbes magazine says “one of the most important qualities of a leader is resilience…. The true grit of a leader is not how they perform during the good times but rather how they display emotional strength, courage and professionalism during the most trying times.”
Rising Strong™ is based on the simple physics of vulnerability: If we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall. This is a curriculum about what it takes to get back up and how owning our stories of struggle gives us the power to write a daring new ending. Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life.
In this Brené Brown workshop, designed around her best-selling book “Rising Strong,” you will address your whole self: values, personal goals, relationships and professional and creative life. You will learn how to live bravely by showing up in the arenas of your life as the most authentic version of you.
Ushirika Johnson, a Licensed Professional Counselor and certified Brené Brown facilitator, will guide you as you utilize videos and materials Brené Brown created specifically for Rising Strong™ participants. During the day-long workshop, you can expect to:
1. Engage in experiential learning of the Rising Strong process: the Reckoning, the Rumble and the Revolution.
2. Explore key components of Dr. Brene´ Brown’s research regarding shame, vulnerability, trust, grief, forgiveness and the power of story.
3. Practice integrating the Rising Strong™ process through the lens of your own personal story.
4. Learn how to implement the overall concepts of the Rising Strong™ process into a daily practice.
This workshop will be held in the beautiful offices of the Wieden+Kennedy advertising agency, which is located in the Pearl District of Portland. The price includes a continental breakfast, snacks, workbooks and tools.
